Having just ventured to the movies to see Wrath of the Titans I thought that would be the perfect movie to review.

Wrath of the Titans is the squeal to the 2007 movie Clash of the Titans. In the first movie we were introduced to Perseus the half mortal son of Zeus. After the death of his family caused by Hades Perseus turns on the gods determined to take his revenge. Ending with the epic “clash” between Perseus and the Kraken.

10 years after that battle is where Wrath of the Titans begins. We are introduced again to Perseus and his son Helius living as fisherman. As the movie begins Zeus comes to see his son and request his help, informing him that with people no longer praying to the gods they are losing their power, which means all they have done would begin to unravel. The godly prison that has held the Titan Kronos, father of Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon is falling apart and soon he will be able to escape.

Perseus refuses to help staying with son and his simple life until the monsters of the underworld begin to reek havoc on the mortal plane. With that Perseus seeks out his father again knowing that he must act or his world will be destroyed only to discover that a betrayer amongst the gods has captured Zeus to use his power to fully free Kronos. Thus begins Perseus's epic journey to the underworld to rescue his father and save the world.

The movie is exactly what it presents itself as; a quick moving battle between man and amazing monsters. Though sometimes the speed of the battles makes it difficult to keep up visually, there is no denying that it is absolutely magnificent. There are some parts you can tell were obviously put in just to make the 3D a bit more exciting. Otherwise the movie is not all that deep. The acting a bit flat, but a nice adventure to go on for a couple hours, though if your familiar with classic Greek myths you will find that the similarities end with the names. Overall I would say the movie is well worth seeing, especially on the big screen, but it is not likely to be a movie you will want to watch over and over again.
