Ok Ok I know I said I wasn't going to post anymore on pottermore but I can't help it people are SO INSANE. Seriously people are acting like JK walked up to them put a real sorting hat on their head and said YOU ARE THIS.

I hate to break it to you but
1) most likely, knowing how media websites work, she didn't have a whole lot to do with it, she gave them the info and sony ran with it(No I don't know this for a fact, yes jk could of coded the entire thing herself idk)
2)Hogwarts aint real
3)These houses, they aint real
4)This site was designed for kids/teenagers
5)It's a game, if you really think that there is nothing keeping the houses even or anything of that sort going on your deluded(or hey I'm overly pessimistic there goes my puffness)
6) JK is not a god believe it or not. She wrote and incredibly successful series of childrens books which I enjoyed but I'm not going to start worshiping her like a golden cow.
7) CALM DOWN I mean seriously the world isn't going to end if you don't get sorted right. You can always go back come october.

I am a Hufflepuff big time. I have Ravenclaw tendancies. I also have a Slytherin side though most don't see it. I also am a lazy/procrastinator like the Gryffs. Any person can easily fit in any house.

And anyway I believe it's totally random, because if not how else would the houses be so even? People are deluded if they think otherwise.

Yeah I don't understand how people can take it so seriously.

But on another note, still haven't gotten my email, but based on your previous post, and the fact that I'm a) not a kid/teen and b) don't revere JK Rowling, I'll probably be over it in a few days. :D

I'm not going to go as far as say it's totally random, because there are a ton of people who have gotten the houses you would think they would get, but I can definitely see some randomizing going on for those who have borderline, not clear-cut answers.

But whether or not JK wrote the questions (and she said she did, so who knows), at the end of the day, she created the houses. So if she suddenly wants to proclaim that all Hufflepuffs love the color pink, then who am I to argue? It's fun to see where you fit, but it's not like it has to define you for life says me, who feels all validated by being a Puff. Don't listen to me.

LOL Well I just got my back up account. This time I didn't get a single either or question where last time I had 2. This time the questions seemed logical where as last time they were well...not so much. This time I got Puff, which does not surprise me in the least, and seems to fit with my other friends who have alternate accounts and took it again.

I wouldn't say it's totally random no, but I think it is very strongly based on the set of questions you get. I think the more uneven the houses are, the more likely you are to receive the vaguer questions which can't really lead you to any house.

Yeah, that's kind of what I meant. It isn't all random (because people have ended up in the spot one would think they should end up in), but at the same time, it's not all 100 percent scientifically accurate either (because a lot of other people have not). It depends on your questions, it depends on your answers.

I had two either/or questions, but most of the other ones seemed pretty logical. I don't know. It's just a website. It's not like we all actually get to go to Hogwarts — though how cool would that be?? :D

Everyone has traits from all of the houses and the focus on each trait tends to change with the way people change over the years AND there has been countless examples in the books of how the main trait of your house won't necessarily define you so I don't get all the fuss. Sure I was psyched about the sorting and was surprised to get Gryffindor but this site is about the fun.

I also don't get all the "fffffff fight to the death" atmosphere, though maybe it's only because Pottermore is extremely buggy for me and all of my potions disappear mid-brewing... Thank god the feedback system is so efficient I can let them know about my problems. [/sarcasm]

And here I thought with all the books out and all the movies out that I would no longer have to listen to Pottermania. Then here came Pottermore and everyone went insane. INSANE. Go JK for continuing the endless cycle, now kill me when the Pottermore craze is over and you release something else to keep your pockets lined.

I am SO CONFUSED by all of these people who are like I FEEL LIKE COMPLAINING IS LIKE SAYING GOD IS WRONG. I'm no any more upset then, eh, I can't really see how this is my house, personally. I just don't see why everyone is like JKR IS GOD, YOU ALL NEED TO STFU. Like you said, she probably has very little to do with it, and I'll be extremely surprised if there is nothing in place to keep the houses even.

I'm going to make too points then i'm gonna stop because lately i feel like i could ramble all day about sorting

1. ITS MADE FOR CHILDREN. Children are much simpler than adults who have more developed personalities. The questions are asking for basic things and adults are realllllly not basic. Unless we ask a bunch of 11 years old where they fit, then who even knows. Besides i'm of the impressoin that the house you're sorted into at 11 becomes an....anchor for who you are in life. You can't really sit and tell me that these 11 year olds don't take the house traits to heart and become them.

2. I don't think its random, but i think that most adults or even most people know where they belong, and frankly i'm inclined to take whatever house people think they are into account. You're a puff, so you're a puff. Most people have traits of all four houses in them, but at the end of the day you know yourself best.

and i know i was only going to say 2 things, but JKR IS GOD ;D But if you're sorted wrong, you're sorted wrong, you know. Everyone doesn't fit perfectly into 4 little boxes.

That being said my mom made fun of because I couldn't get the spell right which apparently means I'm too old so I fail.

I can't get the potions part to load enough to make a fire so meh. Plus it's been broke too much for me to make an actual effort.

I usually get it to load it's just half the time it resets my potion when I go to finish it, and sometimes just doesn't register right at all.
