Author's notes: Ok, I am a Klaine shipper, but my inner Broadway girl fell in love with the you know what moment. So this is my version of it.
Blaine had not been able to think of anything but Rachel the past three days. Ever since the KISS, which at this point he had written it across his mind in full caps and blinking lights, she was all he had in his head. So far, he had been thrown out of Warblers practice for continually forgetting the words. Yelled at by Kurt for not paying attention to whatever it was Kurt was rambling about. Then given a lecture by his French teacher for spacing out and not doing anything on his test at all; luckily, he had convinced her he was sick all night and so tired he couldn’t think.
Now here he was sitting at a back corner table in Star Bucks anxiously waiting for Rachel to show up. He had been there since they opened at 5am and so far had three venti drips and two Cuban cookies. Blaine had also sat on his phone so he would stop checking it every two minutes for a message from Rachel.
The barista brought over another drink and cookie and smiled, “Honey you look like your about to pass out, you sure you need another coffee?”
Blaine glanced up and let out a slightly crazed laugh, “No, not really. What time is it?”
“6:50”
“Oh god,” Blaine groaned paling a bit.
“Date then? That is so sweet. Lemme know if you need anything else honey.”
“It’s not…thank-you.” Blaine sighed and dug his phone out from underneath his butt. “No message, so she’s coming, and I’m going to pass out, crap.”
As Blaine continued to hyperventilate, Rachel walked into Starbucks and looked about spotting Blaine in the back. She confidently walked toward the table even though she felt like she was about to faint, “Good morning Blaine. How are you today?” she smiled as she pulled out the other chair.
Blaine’s head snapped up and he quickly stood only to notice that she had already sat down. He looked about panicked for a moment, “I uh, I’m good, how are you? Can I get you a coffee or bagel or something?”
“I’m well, a Nonfat Iced Vanilla Latte please, also one of those Cuban cookies like you have would be amazing.”
He smiled and walked over to the counter completely blanking on what she just told him, “I, she wants a, crap, a nonfat something.”
The barista girl laughed at him, “Don’t worry honey I’ll take care of it, go on back over to your girl and tell her it will be a minute.”
He looked confused but walked back to the table and sat down, “She said it’ll be just a minute.”
Rachel smiled, “No problem. So…”
“You look very nice today, I mean everyday, not that I see you everyday, but I mean every time I have seen you, you have looked very nice.” Blaine rambled then paused, “I’m sorry, I’ve had like four coffees and I’m a little wired.”
“Four?” she asked, “How long have you been here?”
He glanced about, “A couple hours, I had some, uh, schoolwork to do, so I just came early.”
Looking down she noticed to lack of any school bags, or a computer but decided not to say anything about it, “Ah, well coffee shops are never good for school work. I always end up drinking to much coffee and becoming completely hyper, and eating way too much and I have to work out for hours to make up for it.”
“Hey honey, I’m sorry but I completely screwed up your order and didn’t save the cup what was it you wanted again?” The barista said to Rachel as she walked up to the table.
“Oh? A Nonfat Iced Vanilla Latte and a Cuban cookie please.” Rachel responded.
“Ok, no problem honey, I’ll be right back.”
“So…” Rachel started again, “why exactly am I here?”
“I love how blunt you are,” Blaine laughed.
“Honestly Blaine, what is this? I mean, if this is about the whole spin the bottle thing, it was not that big of a deal. We were drunk, and everything is really kind of a blur anyway.”
Blaine sighed, “I was not drunk then, buzzed maybe, but not drunk, I felt something, which I haven’t felt before, and it confuses the hell out of me. I will admit I don’t remember much after that cause I was trying to drink the confusion away, but I do remember kissing you, and I remember how it made me feel, and how I didn’t want to stop. It’s all I have been able to think about for days.”
Rachel looked somewhat glazed, started to speak, and then stopped again.
“I just ramble all that and you have nothing to say at all?”
“What do you want me to say Blaine? That I felt it too? That I remember it all perfectly? That I don’t care about the fact that you were completely gay until then? That my friend, and I do not have many friends at all Blaine, that my friend Kurt has told you how he feels about you and I’m supposed to just not care about it?” Rachel looked flushed and teary at that point “Excuse me.” Rachel stood and quickly walked to the bathroom in the corner.
Blaine banged his head down on the table, “Crap.”
The barista walked up and set down Rachel’s drink, “Let me guess. You screwed up honey?”
Blaine just groaned and did not even bother to lift his head.
“Free tip, when she comes back out, apologize, kiss her ass, and then apologize again.” She said and walked away.
A few minutes later Rachel came back out looking as impeccable as always, “I’m sorry; I shouldn’t have stormed off like that.”
Blaine quickly snapped his head up and said, “It’s alright I’m sorry, you amazing and I shouldn’t of just dumped all of that on you like that, I’m really sorry.”
Rachel smiled, sat down, and took a sip of her coffee, “Mmm, god I love these. Now then let’s try this again from the start shall we?”
“Yeah that would be great.”
“Maybe we should just go to my house? Incase I go storming off again?”
Blaine laughed, “Sure that would be great.”
